As the saying goes, don’t put off until tomorrow what you can get done today. While it’s probably near impossible to schedule and execute your shoot today, you can at least schedule or begin the process of scheduling your session today. If you’re debating or delaying your shoot for any reason, read on to see why you shouldn’t!
… You Lose Weight
This is the most common reason I hear from women who keep putting off their shoot. Whether it’s taking off the baby weight, wanting that summer bod, having been a little more friendly with the donuts, or wanting tone a little more, the excuses are endless. And why wouldn’t you want to look your best? You are being photographed in your underwear, after all. However, if boudoir is something you really want to do, you don’t want to delay and delay so much that you never end up doing it. Looking back, most of us can remember being unhappy with some aspect of our body and now think our younger selves were crazy for being so critical. Down the road, you’ll probably think the same thing about your present criticisms of yourself! Beauty has no parameters, no defined shape or size, and your size doesn’t determine how beautiful you are. Besides, if you’re doing the shoot for your significant other, they already love you as you are. But trust me that you’ll love your pictures no matter what size you are!
… You Have a Significant Other
Many women think that boudoir photography is something you can only do to give as a gift to a partner. While it’s true that most boudoir sessions are done for a significant other, many people don’t know that it is also a life-changing experience to give yourself! Regardless of who you are giving the photos to or if you’re keeping them just for yourself, boudoir is first and foremost something for you. Boudoir is a very intimate experience that will leave you feeling both sexy and confident, and you’ll have those memories for the rest of your life. The photos are a mere bonus! And if you just so happen to have a significant other, they get to enjoy the fruits your experience as well!
… You Get Engaged
Even if you have a significant other, you don’t have to wait until you’re getting married to do a boudoir shoot. While this is the most popular reason women do a shoot, it is most definitely not the only one. Even I myself do a minimum of one shoot per year as a way to pamper myself and document how much I love my body at every stage in life. As we grow, our bodies grow and change too. It’s amazing how boudoir helps unleash our inner sensuality and sexuality while reminding us that we’ve still got it, even if that’s after marriage and kids. You can do boudoir before you get engaged, after you’re married, or even if you never get married. Boudoir is for any and all stages of life, and for yourself first and foremost!
… After You Have the Baby
If you’re growing a tiny human, sure, you could wait until after you have the baby. This excuse can go both ways really. But say you were dying to do a shoot and then you find out you are pregnant. Have you ever heard about maternity boudoir? I have… And it’s AWESOME! What better way to document your pregnancy than with a little flair?
… You Have Extra Money Lying Around
I don’t know about you, but I don’t know many people who have extra money they don’t know what to do with. With all of life’s expenses, I know it can be difficult to save up for the things we want. Luckily, I have a few tips and tricks to help you save, and I even offer payment plans. And think of your boudoir photography session as an investment in yourself! You’re not only investing in the photographs, you’re also investing in the pampering experience and confidence boost you’ll get in the process of creating them.
